Good morning Fashionistas
I have been neglecting you all recently, please accept my apologies, the choices were sun or indoors on laptop – SUN won.
To be fair, I have been very busy in the garden, if it didn’t move, it got painted – literally everything got a freshen up, if I thought a drop of CUPRINOL ‘SEA BREEZE’ would help me, I would have painted myself too ,(boy do I need a lick of paint). I DIGRESS….
As well as gardening, I have been making copious amounts of cushions for my garden furniture and have absolutely loved watching it all coming together, nothing beats a bit of colour in the garden on a sunny day, nice glass of chilled vino, some nibbles and a good book (or a trashy one), in the summer, it doesn’t count. I DIGRESS…. AGAIN..
Not only have I been enjoying myself, I have also had the misfortune of having to go into the office, I say this as, now, instead of a 15 min car journey in The Yellow Peril (my car), I have to get myself to the train station, get on the train, with all the paraphernalia I need to take, sit on the train, with PEOPLE, then try and get through the barriers at CENTRAL station, if it’s not the amount of crap I have with me stopping getting me through the pesky things, it’s my SMARTCARD (now there is a name it doesn’t deserve), not scanning properly and me having to tell some grumpy assistant, with an attitude, (hey, I cant help it that you need to get up early for work, so do I!!) that, YES, I do have a current ticket on said card – just let me through the barrier!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There has been a positive (SLIGHT) to public transport and working in town and that is, people watching, especially in the summer, OMG, some sights to behold. What I have noticed LADIES is that the days of taking our lovely LULU GUINNESS, KATE SPADE…. whatever, designer handbags are long gone (as are HEELS….A SLIPPERLY CONCOURSE – I DONT THINK SO). Just about every person is using…. I can’t believe I am saying this…..A BACKPACK, myself included and this is because a large chunk of us are having to take LAPTOP’s into work (I was given, by my employer, to help with my hip injury, what was meant to be a bag on wheels, however, it turned out to be, what can only be described as a miniature filing cabinet, on two wheels, not only was it big, it was hard shell and heavy, too heavy for just 2 wheels and that was before I put the kitchen sink in it – it didn’t fit in front of me on seat on train, so it was in the aisle tripping everyone, including me, up ….and….. I got stuck in revolving doors trying to get in the building, (after that I decided a painful hip from using a backpack was preferable).
Backpacks have, in the past, conjured up many scary images, they were ‘UGLY’ things you used when hillwalking or something trainspotting GEEKS kept their flasks in (it’s true, dont deny it), but now, they have became, dare I say it ‘on trend’ and designers are taking full advantage of this. When I started researching what was out there, there were as many TOTE bags as BACKPACKS for us Fashionistas.
The biggest choice I found, from a retail store, was TKMAXX (NO SURPRISE). As per, with them, prices and designers range from affordable to ‘I WISH’.

For those of still not feeling the BACKPACK, and I get that, I like to chop and change, depending on my mood (or outfit), the TOTE bag is a vary acceptable and ‘roomy’ alternative for carrying all that CRAP (SORRY, IMPORTANT WORK DOCS) to the office.
