The bells, the bells…

Good morning fellow fashionistas. I hope you are all well and ready for the last day of 2023 to commence.

I love Christmas, as everyone knows, it brings out the child in me, (as if it was actually hidden away somewhere!!) but I have never been a huge fan of New Year celebrations. I think it stems back to the good old days of the 1970’s, the crap TV, ‘Scotch and Wry’, ‘The White Heather Club’, Andy Stewart, the ‘first foot’ nonsense, you can’t have someone with red hair as your first foot, shortbread, whisky….. OMG, enough already!!!. I was very young and painfully shy and all that forced ‘Happy New Year’, kissy, kissy, with adults sitting up to stupid o’clock in the morning, drinking and regaling the same stories year in/year out, it scarred me for life, thinking about it now gives me shivers. As I got older, it got a bit better, my friends and I would go clubbing until the early hours, there was a lot of dancing and drinking involved, I still didn’t LOVE it, it was all too forced somehow, but I played along. My biggest dread, was and still is, going into work on 3 Jan, OMG, all that happy clappy s***, having to shake hands and kiss people you had barely uttered 2 words to all year, even worse if they were a smoker, eek!!! Working from home over the past couple of years has thankfully saved me from this torture, not so sure I will get away with it this year, as I am actually in the office on 3rd Jan, my stomach is already churning at the thought of it.

With that said, I will still try and stay awake until Midnight tonight and toast to a Happy and uneventful (unless it’s something good) New Year with my loved ones, I am not that much of a grumpy old c**.

I wish everyone who has followed my BLOG or even just read 1 post, a very enjoyable last day of 2023 and a Happy New Year when it comes.

Enjoy being you xx
