Good morning fellow fashionistas. It’s 6.17 am, get up, get out of your lazy bed…………. as you can see, I am, yet again up at stupid o’clock and have been for the past hour, in that hour, there has been a lot of cussing as my laptop wasn’t playing ball. After a few good, hard, slaps, it’s come around, unlike it’s owner, who is still half asleep!!!
I thought this morning I would let you into the best kept secret so far this year, are you ready???? (something I found by chance, and so glad I did).
Now, I don’t know about you but I love dark nights, with a lovely scented candle on, particularly if I have a glass of wine in one hand and a book in the other. As we all know, there are bucket loads of candles on the market, with the usual scents and whilst I am not averse to these, apart from rose (blah), just my preference or not, as the case may be, but it’s nice to find something new and exciting, I was totally blown away when I came across these ………
Their tag line is ‘IGNITE THE ESSENCE OF LUXURY’ and that is exactly what you feel like you are getting, the smell before you even burn them is amazing, heaven on the nostril. There are traditional scented candles to buy, if that’s your ‘thing’, however, I opted for the ‘essence of egypt’ scents, buying 5 of them. Each one has it’s own unique, individual scent, my particular favourite is THE NILE, closely followed by KOHL.
Now, I know what you’re thinking, it’s not ‘smellavision’…. choosing a candle is dependant on the sniff test, how can you do that with an on-line purchase?? Well, we all know what scents we like and don’t like don’t we (rose,blah), so, with that in mind, the owner/designer of SPHINXCANDLES.UK tells you, in great detail, just what the scent combo is, and with my purchases, the descriptions were spot on (the price tag ain’t too shabby either).
The Nile is a mysterious and alluring amber blend, with patchouli undertones that carry a hint of dark sophistication and intrigue.
As I have said before I am a great fan of independent businesses. I just think they go the extra mile for you. My candles came in lovely packaging, with a note from the owner/designer and 2 lovely (free) tealights (what’s not to like). So, if like me, you love a candle and are bored with the ordinary, why not have a browse on their website and treat yourself, (a good excuse to buy a bottle of wine and a book to go with it).
