Good morning FF’s. Well, we are nearly into December.. How on earth did that happen?? And what on earth is this new Black Friday craze all about??
Now, I have done the REAL Black Friday in New York, going to the OUTLET, queuing outside Michael Kors, Kate Spade etc, then walking along Fifth Ave, going into ZAKS and Henri Bendel – it just doesn’t quite cut it in UK, especially in a small shopping centre in Glasgow, however, as we seem to be embracing this now, I might as well go with the flow.
ZARA had the right idea. Their Black Friday was online from 9pm Thursday and in-store yesterday and that was IT. Gone, whoosh… blink and you missed it. Other stores have been tantalising throughout the week and quite frankly there is nothing I am that desperate for that I am going to start trawling through every sale. one point to note, I walked past Pandora yesterday and it was sooooo busy, on 28/11!!! (it’s usually the week before Christmas it gets like that), anyway, it piqued my interest so I had a wander in, wish I hadn’t bothered, there really weren’t any bargains, some items marked down (in tiny numbers), but only by about 20% – I promptly left. Way too peopley in there too!!!
Anyways. I have had a wee look online this morning…. as one does at 6am on a Saturday……

These are from & Other Stories are were already in their SALE and now have a further 20% off, so you are getting a fairly decent saving.

These leather gloves are from Lulu Guinness and would make a great gift for someone (i.e ME) and have 50% off.

Anthropologie already had items with 25% off, like this blouse, which now has a further 40% when you get to checkout (as do many other items).
So, there are bargains out there. It’s just taking some time out to find them (in the comfort of your own home, with lots of nibbles beside you). If, like me, you don’t want to pay stupid prices for clothes/accessories, but do appreciate nice, well – made pieces, that are built to last – this is the time to maybe treat yourself to something , from somewhere you previously dreamed of buying from, never thinking you could afford to.
A bientoot mes amis. xx
