So today, I went to my local shopping mall, just for a browse and to drag my butt off the seat (before I got too comfortable watching Sunset Beach).
Now, I know it’s only May but usually at this time of year the shops are brimmed full of colour for the impending summer months and beach holidays……. wrong!!
Given that we have been at home for virtually 2 years, these shops are missing a trick – I don’t know anyone who isn’t going to try and get away to somewhere with some sunshine, you can bet it probably wont be here!!!!!! So who wants to wear black, grey and white when you are having fun in the sun????? NOT ME.
Overpriced, bland clothing ………………. If they did manage to stock something in a decent colour or print, the styling, if you could call it that, was all wrong. To quote Villanelle of Killing Eve – BORING!!!!! (I am shouting this).
One shop that did quite well (and I usually complain about their lack of colour), was H & M.

They had a lot of dresses and skirts with some shorts and playsuits, not a lot of trousers, which is a bonus for me as I don’t think I could get my COVID backside into them right now. Most of the shops seem to be following this trend.
River Island was also awash with colour, however, they did appear to be drowning in it, with their usual take on Versace/Chanel with a hint of nasty included, I hasten to add not all of it, but there were a few shall we say, slightly nasty pieces.
I think we all deserve a bit of colour in our lives, particularly if you get that colour right (for your skin tone and hair colour etc), it can make all the difference.
Happy Holidays
