Good morning FF’s.
Quick pop on this morning to bemoan my make – up woes (and dont get me started on the made-up prices). For your information, I haven’t been able to find a foundation that I truly love. As I am getting on a bit, in years, yes moi, who would have thought it. I have found it increasingly difficult to find the coverage I want, deserve, have a right to. It’s either too heavy, gets into all the lines and cracks, too light, well, NADA coverage, can still see this face. Now, I know, I know, make up isn’t a miracle worker, obviously it can only do so much with this haggard old face, but I was hoping for a bit more than I was getting.
I decided to opt for a one-brush does all approach. Liked the idea of just putting a foundation powder on, minimal effort, however, it was quite difficult to find one (years ago I used Kanebo, I loved it, albeit I did look a bit like a Geisha girl, but that’s a whole other story). So, I had a trawl around Frasers and the only counter that seemed to do anything resembling my desires was ‘Bobbi Brown’, never bought any of her products so thought I would try it out. Assistant put some on, it looked fine, but I did have my full face of make up on and was in a hurry to get train….. so I would have agreed to anything, silly Val. My £42 got this….

AND £39 for the super duper brush (it’s a brush, with her name on it…OMG, RIP OFF CENTRAL) …… tried it the next morning and I just felt I looked so washed out, it looked as if I had just put translucent powder on top of a freshly washed face.
My verdict … it’s a NO from me.
Next stop, Laura Geller. I kept seeing adverts for their baked foundation, all over Social Media, celebrities and ‘not’ so celebrity, touting it, with their ‘special offers’, ‘get it now before it goes’, ‘one-time only price’ ‘best ever’, ‘blah, bloody, blah’ .I have to say this girl was not convinced it wasn’t some sort of ruse, but, on checking out the official Website, it seemed kosher enough, there were quite a few different packages on offer.

For £48 (normally £75),(plus 15% discount if you sign up for emails) you get all of this (baked foundation, blush, highlighter and decent brush – plus I got a wee freebie primer) and I have to say, I much preferred the coverage I had with this foundation, plus I had an overall healthy glow. It didn’t turn me into Jennifer Aniston (sadly), but at least I didnt look the walking dead wearing it.
You can thank me later.
A bientot mes amis
